Patient Portal FAQs

WHAT IS THE PATIENT PORTAL?
Our patient portal is a safe, secure, connection that allows parents to access certain parts of their children’s medical records. The Allied Patient Portal is accessible through computers, tablets, and smart phones.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO PARENTS?
You can enjoy quick, easy access to important parts of your children’s medical records. You can see, print, and download this information at your convenience, without having to call the office. You can keep track of prescriptions, immunizations, fill out forms before your visit, and so much more, from anywhere you have internet access.

At Allied, we are committed to bringing access, communication, and technology to our patient and family experience. Putting your children’s medical records at your fingertips is an exciting way for us to fulfill that commitment and provide you with an unparalleled patient experience.

WHAT PARTS OF MY CHILDREN'S MEDICAL RECORDS CAN I SEE AND PRINT AT HOME?
You can access information on Allergies, Immunizations, Prescriptions, and Pharmacies. We continue to add more access and interactive features all the time.

IS THERE A COST TO ACCESS THE PATIENT PORTAL?
No. Account creation and registration are free. Once you’re fully registered, you can access your children’s medical records as often as you like for free.

IS THE APNY PATIENT PORTAL REALLY SAFE AND SECURE?
Absolutely. We’ve invested in a secure server and a secure web domain (denoted by the s in the https:// portion of our Patient Portal’s URL) to ensure the safety and confidentiality of your children’s medical records. Our registration process, in which every Allied Patient Portal account is individually verified by a APNY staff member before activation, and in which every account receives its own secure password, also ensures that all access to medical records is both accurate and appropriate.

CAN MORE THAN ONE PARENT CREATE A PATIENT PORTAL ACCOUNT (i.e., for divorced, separated and/or non-related parents?)
Yes. That's one of the reasons we tie portal access to specific email addresses -- so that individual parents or caregivers can each have access to the same children's records.

CAN I PRINT MY CHILD'S IMMUNIZATION RECORDS AND SUBMIT THEM TO SCHOOLS, CAMPS, AND DAY CARES?
Absolutely. You can print the immunization records yourself, any time you want, and submit them directly. We recommend doing a full-screen print, so the people to whom you're submitting can see that the immunization history comes from our secure patient portal. (For many reasons, we imagine this will be one of the Patient Portal's most popular features!) Priting the records for yourself is easy, convenient, and free.

CAN I USE THE PORTAL TO REQUEST PRESCRIPTION REFILLS?
Yes! Just click on the link, follow the instructions, and make your request. It's that easy!

CAN I USE THE PORTAL TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS?
The portal can be used to request a well appointment.  By simply filling out the form with your choices of when you would like to bring your child in, giving us the best method of contact you, we will schedule the appointment and let you know the day and time.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY PASSWORD?
Once you've signed in to The Portal, click on the “Edit ….  Account” and click on My Account tab. When your account information appears, click Edit and  you'll see a box for New Password and one for Confirm New Password. Type the password you want in both boxes, then click the Save button at the bottom, and your password will be changed.

HOW DO I ADD MY NEW BABY TO MY PORTAL ACCOUNT?
Just give us a call in the office, and we can take care of that in a minute or two. That's all!

IS ACCESS TO THE PORTAL MEANT TO REPLACE AN OFFICE VISIT?
Not at all. This is just another means of communication between you and our office. Though it will save you a trip to the office if all you need is a copy of your child's immunization records.

Giving you access to your children’s medical information in your home, on your own time, helps you stay informed, and also helps us work together to provide the best possible care for your children.
